Still nothing on the desk, I’m afraid. I’ve been too busy with other things, and too tired, to even think about anything creative. I didn’t join in last week but managed to visit a few folks, and was so happy to see the photos of the crop! It looks as if all the WOYWW-ers had a great time.

New wheelchair demo

I had my new wheelchair demo and trial last week. It was brilliant. If you’re interested in the blow-by-blow, check here. Here’s the video, anyway.

My hubby didn’t do too badly, videoing with my iPad! I had quite a bit of editing to do afterwards. It was amazing, being able to go on the beach, and even into the sea until my feet got wet!! Then into the woods, where I nearly turned my buggy over when I tried it there. No problems with this all-terrain wheelchair.

Some good news. They originally told me the waiting list was four months, and I expressed horror at this, because we are keen to get it sooner rather than later, so we can enjoy all the places we want to go to in the summer, and didn’t want to have to wait till the summer was over before it arrived. They rang the next day to say it should be ready by the end of July, so that’s less than 2 months to wait.

Kitties

I got some sweet pictures of our girlies this week.

Lily is a shameless hussy. Here she is yet again, rolling over and exposing all to the world! She flops down with such gusto that you can hear her hit the deck. Ruby looks on with bemusement. She generally prefers to be the right way up.

Lily showing everything

I took this photo the other night, when they were both on my legs on the recliner. It was a bit difficult to take, because I had to lift the camera so high to get them both in, and couldn’t see what I was doing! All while trying not to disturb them or they’d have got off. Half hidden by the table, it looks like one great long kitty on my lap!

Moving the table to the side, this is what they were actually like!

Finally, I took this one on Monday night. Ruby really loves her sister!

PIP application

My PIP application form has gone off, and I’ve checked the proof of postage and it’s arrived OK. Now it’s the waiting game. It could be months before I hear anything. I am trying not to worry about it. I had some very good advice from a lady at AgeUK, who went through my draft form and recommended a few tweaks here and there. She said I should definitely qualify for it but I may have to fight for it.

After I got the form off into the post, the next day I really crashed with exhaustion and reaction. I haven’t felt too well since then, with headaches most days, and sleeping badly and finding it very hard to get up in the mornings. I’ve had to rest a lot. The afternoon out with the wheelchair test was pretty tiring too, although most enjoyable!

Not much more to report this week, but here’s a cat funny to close, continuing with last time’s computing theme.

Awh I couldn’t stop smiling while I was watching your video. What freedom you will have and to be on the beach as well as in the woods.
Then you had me smiling again with the kitties antics.

  2. LOVE the photos of the kitties. They are so sweet. Just as good as a desk, I think. Glad you got your application in. I’m sure the waiting game will prove successful. Happy WOYWW from # 8.

Your intro music! I thought that was going to be the theme for the whole video LOL! Shoshi speeding down the beach to the tune of heavy rock! It looks very sturdy, but you can’t use it like a quadbike, so be careful on those rugged terrains. Lucky that you don’t have to wait 4 months after all, although wouldn’t it be great to get it straight away? The kitties look adorable as usual. They look so cushy on your lap! Oreo does the exact same thing when I put my feet up and then I go stiff because I can’t move. I bear it as long as I can but as soon as I move he jumps off – annoyed that he was disturbed! Spoiled little brat and I expect yours are no less spoilt! Fingers crossed your forms go through ok!

Hi Shoshi, good news you won’t have to wait as long. I’m sure it will make a huge difference to you both. Lovely kitty pics, and fingers crossed the PIP goes well. I don’t recall having any problems when I sent my form in, it went through just fine. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

Hi Shoshi, just wanted to say thank you so much for your visit last week. I am not joining in this week but stopped by as I should have visited earlier – I’m so sorry! The wheelchair looks fabulous and very maneuverable – I can see how it would give you a lot more freedom, it’s just a shame the waiting list is 2 months (although so much better than 4!), at least you’ll get to use it for some of the summer.
Love the pictures of the cats – they really are adorable, although I know if I had two on my legs like that I’d overheat, even our Guinea Pigs feel like little hot water bottles when I cuddle them!
Hope you have a great week,
    Diana x

Hi Shoshi, back again. I think I did have a face to face, and I *think* I went to their offices in Birmingham, for the first, but since then they have come to the house.

As I said before I love that wheelchair and I am so pleased that it wont take 4 months for it to arrive. I am not surprised that you collapsed after your PIP submission – it really is stressful. I am praying that you will get it without having to fight for it. Love the kitties! Happy WOYWW. with love & God Bless. Caro (#19) xxx

that chair looks fabulous, and with the way the year has been whizzing, i am sure it will be here in no time! as for the PIP… well fingers crossed! Hope you feel a bit more with it soon, I am not surprised you had a reaction once the form went off. Helen #9

The buggy looks amazing and after watching your trial on it I’m sure you are going to have a lot of fun with it. The kitties are adorable. Good luck with your PIP application. Elizabeth x #26

Brilliant video Shoshi and so glad you will get the buggy sooner rather than later. Considering they look so alike it is funny how Lily and Ruby have such different quirks. Meow to them. Hope you are feeling a bit better soon now that the application is out of your hands. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
