You are currently viewing Blodle Art!

Watching Peter Draws again on YouTube, I decided to try his idea for “Blodle Art.” This is blob doodling! You start by drawing a blob, and then adding concentric lines around it, a bit like contour lines on a map. You can add as many blobs as you want, and integrate them into the design. It can become quite amoeboid. Once you’re satisfied with it, you can fill in some areas with solid black for contrast, and then have fun adding as many borders and fills as you want.

Blodling is an excellent way of getting started especially if you are lacking inspiration and intimidated by the blank white page.

I began this one with the vaguely triangular blob with a spiral, just above the centre of the drawing.

Here’s a close-up.
