Just a few stragglers from yesterday’s session in the studio.
I decided I wanted to make some stencils to go with the Oriental script masks.
I also made another scallops one, which ended up as a mask rather than a stencil – when I cut it, the whole of the middle fell out! I am happy with it as a mask, though. Here it is with the original scallops stencil – the design is more plain.
The same thing happened with one of the new Persian tiles ones that I did. Actually these were very old designs which I originally created as lattices to be incorporated into cards. The designs are so pretty and I thought since I was on a stencil/mask binge at the moment, I would include them.
I made all the test cuts for these new ones, as before, and had to do a bit of editing on the Oriental script ones. Once this was done, I cut them all from Tyvek, and the thinner bits will hold up OK. They are all now filed in individual document sleeves in the ring binder with the rest.
No time after that lot to do any gel printing. I am really keen to try them all out now, especially after the last session which was so successful and so much fun.
Please see my second post of the day, where I show the results of some ink spraying experiments with some of these stencils and masks that I did this afternoon.
