TYPEWRITER ALBUM PART 7 - A FLORAL PAGE As I mentioned before, I am not following a particular schedule with this project, but just flipping through the prepared signatures and deciding to work on one, whatever order they are in. This page is also in the second signature. It is the third one…
TYPEWRITER ALBUM PART 6 - FROM DISASTER IN PINK TO IN THE PINK In mixed media, there is no such thing as a mistake. There are only more layers! Background Yesterday I began work on the outside of the wings of the centrefold typewriter image in the second signature. I made a mistake…
TYPEWRITER ALBUM PART 5 - TRANSPARENCIES A way to add more interest to an album is to introduce transparent pages or embellishments. Luise Heinzl frequently does this. I was able to print on acetate with my old laser printer but wasn't sure how it would work out on the new one. I am…
TYPEWRITER ALBUM PART 3 - BUTTERFLIES Today I have had a wonderful time splashing about with spray inks in the studio, and a somewhat frustrating time with die-cutting. Butterflies I am making a collection of butterflies and butterfly-themed papers for the Typewriter Album. Several weeks ago I bought Tim Holtz's "Perspective Butterfly" die…
SCRAP BUSTING - LUISE HEINZL'S MIXED MEDIA MASTERBOARDS - MY SECOND ONE Following on from my previous post where I detailed the creation of the first masterboard, I will now pick up where I left the second one, where I added inks to the wet gesso layer. White acrylic layer I painted on…

I successfully printed out all the sheets on my new printer and am very pleased with the result. The pages consist of printables of page tabs, pockets, belly bands, journaling cards etc.…
LUISE HEINZL'S COFFEE AND BRUSHO FLOWERS Another stash-busting project after a fashion. I have a pile of my hubby's incomplete or reject watercolour paintings which I rescued from the bin several years ago. I told him he should paint on the back but if not, please could he recycle them in my direction?…
SCRAP BUSTING - MIXED MEDIA FRAGMENTS I have made further inroads into my overflowing scraps box, grabbing a handful of white card strips which had been trimmed off larger sheets. Tea and rust I laid them out on the table close together and tea dyed them from a spray bottle, and once they…
SCRAP-BUSTING - CLUSTERS, AND A NEW PRINTER Another studio session in an attempt to reduce my overflowing scrap collection. I decided to make a set of clusters, simpler than my previous collection. The earlier ones are quite thick with a lot of layers and bead dangles etc. I needed to make some that…
