TAPERLOGY UNBOXING!

My second post today.

At last my long-awaited parcel of fabulous goodies has arrived.

Taperlogy

I first came across this when my favourite New Zealand artist Froyle did a video on it, unboxing her parcel. I had never heard of this site before – it is run by a lady living in Singapore, but it ships worldwide, and it seems to be taking the collage art scene by storm. She sells the most beautiful and unusual supplies, many of which come from China, those great experts in the ancient art of paper-making – gorgeous delicate hand-made papers and a wealth of ephemera, stickers, labels… Everything is of the highest quality, and it all comes beautifully packaged, in the kind of packaging you can save and use in projects.

As soon as I saw this, I fell in love with it and knew I needed to put in an order! There is a lot to choose from on the site, and you can buy as little or as much as you want, and there are also selection packs available. She sells the fabulous Japanese Ogura lace paper in her “hand-made papers” pack – the first time I have been able to get my hands on this after a long search.

Unboxing

You’ve got to admire my self-restraint. You really have. This pink parcel arrived on Monday, just as I was about to start doing last month’s accounts. Two years ago I made a New Year’s resolution to complete the accounts before the first week of the new month had elapsed, and so far, with the exception of one month when I was a few days late due to illness, I have kept this up. Monday 7th November… Do I forget the accounts and indulge in my new parcel, or am I going to be a good girl? I chose the latter!!!

The following day, Tuesday. Pink parcel is beckoning.

Under the pink wrapper, the box with its famous Taperlogy label to seal it. Oooh, the anticipation!

The great reveal

Finally, lifting the lid.

A little welcome card with a discount code, and a free wax seal with a gold butterfly attached.

The reverse of the card – ready for use!

Washi tapes

The beautiful Washi tapes I had chosen. Like my other set, purchased a few weeks ago from another source, they have come in a most attractive box.

A wider roll of Washi tape which complements the set.

Small stickers and fragments

Another free gift.

This little pack of stickers contains several of each design. I love the vintage look of them with the star charts and instruments.

Yet another freebie. These “Scattered Fragments” are little slips of paper and card with words on them.

Beautiful papers

The first pack of paper which I ordered – these are called “Mesh Papers.”

In these paper packs, there are too many sheets to photograph individually, but you will see photos of them as I come to use them in projects. For now, it’s a group shot!

The long-sought-after Ogura lace is the pink and white sheets on the left. I did some research on this a while back – apparently the Japanese make this by allowing water drops to fall onto the still-wet pulp during the paper-making process, forcing the fibres apart into the beautiful random holes.

Just look at the gorgeousness of these sheer decorative papers… They are from the Doilies set.

This pack is called “Hand-Made Papers.” I love the jute string tying it up.

More Ogura lace included in this pack. Even the label is made of fabulous paper.

I already have some of the mesh stuff at the bottom of the above photo, but have no objection to having a bit more! Included in this shot is a piece of burlap.

The final shot from that pack, mostly textured hand-made papers with some sheers. The one at top right is silvery and utterly gorgeous.

Botanical rub-ons and stickers

Two packs of floral rub-ons, which even come complete with a popsicle stick to rub them on with! You lay the image over where you want it, and rub, and it transfers off the sheet onto your project, with no background or visible surround. You can even apply these to fabric. There are several different sheets in each pack.

Finally, some large botanical stickers, which again will adhere without any visible surround.

When applied to a page, these look utterly realistic.

What an absolute joy this parcel is! Everything is now safely packed away again, back in the box, ready for use. I left a comment under Froyle’s YouTube video of her Taperlogy unboxing, letting her know that mine had arrived, and she replied, very enthusiastically, and telling me not to be afraid to use the gorgeous papers! She must know me better than she realises… I have an awful tendency to buy fabulous stuff and then sit on it, afraid to use it in case I ruin it! I have some papers that I get out every now and then, stroke them, and put them away again. So silly. Much better to use them and enjoy them!

There is enough material here to keep me happily playing for years! I am going to have so much fun with it all. I am watching lots of YouTube videos of others doing their unboxing, and I am sure that there will soon be more than a few videos of people incorporating them into their projects.
