UV RESIN – NEW UV LAMP
I have recently taken up UV resin work, in order to make small embellishments for my mixed media projects. I began with an inexpensive starter kit which included a small UV lamp. This proved to be pretty weedy and it took ages to cure anything, so I have bought a new one which is a lot more substantial.
This lamp comes in two halves, which can be used separately or together. If you have a large number of pieces to cure, you can use the two halves separately. Each has its own time control and each has its separate USB charger port. It is good that you can use this lamp either wirelessly or while it is charging.
Opening the lamps
As with my original lamp, two flaps on either side of the device fold outwards to form the legs of the lamp. Folded flat, the lamps take up less storage space.
You can see that there are lamps on the insides of the legs. Also, the two small circles on the edges of the legs are magnets. The two halves click together, and I rapidly discovered that you can control the whole thing from one lamp.
When used as a paired unit, there is a perspex shelf that fits between the lamps, about half way up. Laying things on here means that the lamps are doing their curing work on all sides.
Accessories
Metal rings, fancy buckles and a silicone mould, which so far has not proved to be a success but I probably need more practice.
