SCRAP BUSTING - LUISE HEINZL'S MIXED MEDIA MASTERBOARDS This has to be one of the most imaginative forms of scrap busting I have ever come across! Whenever we punch or die-cut any shapes, there is always that negative space paper remaining. Many people simply throw this in the bin but I usually keep…
LUISE HEINZL'S TYPEWRITER EPHEMERA I have just downloaded this kit from Luise's Etsy and love the vintage grunge of it all. I successfully printed out all the sheets on my new printer and am very pleased with the result. The pages consist of printables of page tabs, pockets, belly bands, journaling cards etc.…
LUISE HEINZL'S COFFEE AND BRUSHO FLOWERS Another stash-busting project after a fashion. I have a pile of my hubby's incomplete or reject watercolour paintings which I rescued from the bin several years ago. I told him he should paint on the back but if not, please could he recycle them in my direction?…
SCRAP BUSTING - MIXED MEDIA FRAGMENTS I have made further inroads into my overflowing scraps box, grabbing a handful of white card strips which had been trimmed off larger sheets. Tea and rust I laid them out on the table close together and tea dyed them from a spray bottle, and once they…
SCRAP-BUSTING - CLUSTERS, AND A NEW PRINTER Another studio session in an attempt to reduce my overflowing scrap collection. I decided to make a set of clusters, simpler than my previous collection. MASTERBOARD BOOK - VOYNICH MANUSCRIPT, AND PRINTER NEWS Some more pages for my masterboard book, this time using images from the Voynich Manuscript, but first, I was unhappy with one of my earlier pages: This was the one with the financial documents and Payne's grey water. It looked messy and dull and I…
COLLAGE PAPERS FROM OLD FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS I have a large stack of old letters from the bank, statements, council tax bills and what not. I used to shred all this stuff, but some time ago I began tea and coffee dying them with the intention of turning them into useable art papers. As…
MASTERBOARD BOOK - INKED KITCHEN PAPER Another stash-busting project! Cleaning up operations When I work with inks and paints, I don't like washing left-over media down the sink. For paints I usually wipe off the brushes onto various scratch papers which mature nicely with time and make good collage fodder or backgrounds for…
MASTERBOARD BOOK - TEXT COLLAGE PAGES Today I added five more pages to my masterboard book, which is a scrap-busting project that I started last month. It is an A4 spiral bound sketchbook which I am using to create a number of masterboard pages ready to be cut up and used in projects.…
