ORIENTAL STYLE ALBUM - IRIS SHUTTER PAGE It's been over a month since I did any work on this project. I have been mulling over doing an iris shutter interactive element and kept putting it off as it involved getting myself organised, tidying the studio and making room for my downstairs laptop so…
USING WEEDED PAPER FROM CUTTING MACHINE AS A STENCIL After I had cut out the pieces to make several iris shutter mechanisms, I looked at the weeded sheets when I'd removed them from the cutting mat, and thought that they might make interesting stencils. I took a piece of Amazon packaging paper and…
IRIS SHUTTERS AND VOLVELLES I love 3-D paper projects, pop-ups and mechanicals. I finally got around to cutting some pieces to make iris shutters for my Oriental-style album, and making a cutting file for a volvelle. Iris Shutters Some time ago I came across a cutting die to make iris shutters but it…
NEW STASH, UPCYCLING A FLOWER BOX, AND CONJOINED TWIN VEGGIES New stash I decided to take advantage of the opening sale from Temu. I got a whole lot of stuff with huge amounts of discount. I stocked up on new beads and various other bits and pieces for the studio. A few closer…
SKIRTING THE ISSUE At the County Show last month, I bought some new clothes from an ethnic clothing stand, including a long multi-coloured tiered skirt made from 80 percent silk. Absolutely gorgeous, except that it had a deep shirred band at the top, and I really don't like this style. I bought a…
THE SLIPPERY SLOPE ISN'T ALL BAD I decided it was high time I bought some new slippers. My poor old slipper! I ordered two pairs from an Ebay shop, and when the parcel arrived today, they'd sent the wrong ones. I got straight onto them and they apologised profusely for mixing my order…

Graphics Fairy Labels Some time ago, when I got my new colour laser printer, I printed out a lot of material from the Graphics Fairy Premium Membership site, including sheets of blank labels.…
WINDOW ELEMENTS, GLUE WOES UNSTUCK AT LAST, AND A MILESTONE BIRTHDAY I've been pottering in the studio and office, tidying up a bit and finding stuff I can make use of, and I've finally sorted my glue problems! I've also had an important birthday... Window elements I wasn't sure what to call these.…
MIXED MEDIA ON OLD CHRISTMAS CARDS, DIY WASHI TAPE FROM KITCHEN PAPER, AND AN ORDEAL Today I had fun in the studio just playing, enjoying the creative flow and feeling myself recover from yesterday's ordeal (more later). I get so little time for this activity and it was very fulfilling. Mixed media on…
A COUPLE OF CARDS May is a busy month for my hubby and me. His birthday is on the 19th and mine is on the 30th, and in between, on the 24th, is our wedding anniversary and the kitties' birthday. This year they are six! I can't believe we've had them that long…
